Sunday night, Bobby McCray became the 20th Florida Gator alum to win a Super Bowl, as New Orleans defeated the Colts 31-17. It was also the 52nd time a Gator was in the game, as well as the eighth consecutive year UF has had a player participate in the contest.
McCray made two tackles and had a quarterback hurry in Sunday’s game. Coming off of the bench during the regular season, the defensive end started all three playoff games for the Saints. …

According to a St. Petersberg Times report yesterday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an opening for a receivers coach and have interviewed former Gator and Buccaneer wideout Ike Hilliard for the position. Hilliard, 33, was a receivers coach for the UFL’s Florida Tuskers this year and had also interviewed for Washington’s coaching position last week. Hilliard played 12 seasons in the NFL, the first eight with the New York Giants and the final four with Tampa Bay.
