Agent Drew Rosenhaus announced on his Twitter page Wednesday that his agency had signed former Gator receiver Louis Murphy as a new client earlier in the day.
Murphy, a rookie this year in Oakland, has been impressive during the offseason and is expected to play a sizable role in the Raiders offense this season.

Wednesday’s NBA free agency kickoff saw a couple of splashes by Detroit. The Pistons ran through most of their $18 million in cap room by signing Chicago’s Ben Gordon and Milwaukee’s Charlie Villanueva. While the signings won’t make headlines in Gainesville, they both have possible implications on some former Gators.
The Bulls are expected to move John Salmons over to the vacated shooting guard spot abandoned by Gordon. The team is also rumored to be shopping combo-guard Kirk Hinrich in hopes …

July 1 marks the start of NBA free agency. That means the courting of David Lee has begun.
Lee, a double-double machine as a starter with the New York Knicks last season, reportedly received his opening offer from the Knicks. According to the New York Daily News, the team has offered Lee a four-year deal at $36 million, far south of the rumored $10 million per season Lee’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, is seeking.
