The Jacksonville Sharks, a member of the new Arena Football 1 league, have signed former Florida cornerback Dee Webb. In a press release the team said Webb will “become a cornerstone for both the defense and a veteran leader.”
This will be Webb’s second time playing for a professional team in his hometown of Jacksonville, as the All-SEC corner was a seventh-round pick of the Jaguars in 2006. Despite getting picked so late in the draft, Webb played 11 NFL games, accumulating …

Adding to an already-successful rookie season, Percy Harvin was selected to the Pro Bowl Monday, replacing Philadelphia Eagles wide reciever DeSean Jackson, who was named to the NFC roster at both wideout and kick returner. While Jackson will still play reciever, Harvin will now return kicks. Harvin is the thrid rookie named to the 2010 Pro Bowl roster, joining Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing and Washington defensive end Brian Orakpo. Foot injuries have already sidelined one Miami Dolphin starter in Ronnie Brown, and it looks like it will do the same for linebacker Channing Crowder. Crowder, who suffered a mid-foot injury in the Dolphins’ 27-20 loss against Houston, may have suffered a Lisfranc injury, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The injury is a break and dislocation of midfoot joints requires surgery and a longer recovery period. If Crowder suffered a Lisfranc injury, it would be the exact injury that sidelined Ronnie Brown for the season in Week 10.

It has been a rough week for Reggie Nelson, who has been under much scrutiny from fans and critics alike for his tackling — or lack thereof — in the Jaguars’ Thursday night game against the Indianapolis Colts. Receiving more time in the starting lineup, San Diego Chargers linebacker Brandon Siler is making the most of it by making big plays for his team, as the former Gator had five tackles against Dallas, with two for losses. One of the tackles took place on a key goal-line stand in the second quarter, when Siler stopped Cowboys running back Marion Barber from scoring from the 1-yard line to give Dallas the lead. Former Gator pitcher Ryan Sadowski has landed on his feet with a chance to get back into the big leagues.
The right-hander signed a minor-league contract with the Houston Astros Dec. 8. Coming into Sunday’s game against New England, Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder told the Sun-Sentinel he would be quiet when playing the Patriots, referring to the fine he received last year against the team after an altercation with New England lineman Matt Light. Since being sidelined in Week 5 with torn ligaments in his ankle, there have been very few Fred Taylor sightings, so when the 12-year veteran made an appearance in the Patriots locker room Friday, the question was how the running back has come along in his rehabilitation. Percy Harvin continued his successful rookie campaign in Week 11, catching five passes for 79 yards, and scoring a touchdown on a 23-yard pass from Brett Farve. It was Havin’s best game since Week 8’s matchup against Green Bay, when the wideout caught five passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
Through Week 11, Harvin ranks third in the NFL with 1,471 all purpose yards, and leads all rookies in total touchdowns with six.

With seven weeks left in the NFL season, many teams are dealing with injuries, whether it’s a player bouncing back from one, or a backup captializing on an opportunity.
