The Florida Gators had eight players drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, including linebacker Jarrad Davis to the Detroit Lions with the 21st overall selection.

In addition, five former Gators signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents.

Shortly after the draft concluded Sunday, quarterback Austin Appleby announced he had signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Defensive end Bryan Cox Jr. announced he had finalized a deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Former walk-on running back Mark Herndon landed with the Cleveland Browns and wide receiver Ahmad Fulwood signed with the New Orleans Saints.

And former Gators wider receiver/punt returner Chris Thompson, a former Gainesville High standout, signed with the Houston Texans.
